Nope, parking is completely free for guests. We have a large lot right next to the entrance.
No special gear needed. Just wear your usual outdoor clothes. It can be a little cooler inside the cave during summer, so we recommend bringing a light jacket.
It’s a short walk, about 100 meters from the parking area. The path is natural, a bit grassy and earthy, but manageable. There’s a gentle slope of around 12 degrees. Most people have no problem walking up. Our oldest visitor so far was 92 years young! The caves are not accessible by wheelchair.
We recommend booking ahead to make sure you get the time slot you want. If you’re nearby and want to join, just stop by. We’ll do our best to fit you in if there’s space.
We’re in the middle of the Golden Circle, between Þingvellir National Park and the town of Laugarvatn. From road 365, called Lyngdalsheiðarvegur, turn onto road 367, Laugarvatnshellavegur, and follow the signs marked "Caves." You’ll find us at the foot of the mountain.
The tour usually takes about 25 to 30 minutes, including the food tasting if you choose that option.

The standard tour is 2,000 ISK for adults and 1,000 ISK for children under 15.
If you cancel within 2 days of your tour, the full price will be charged. If you cancel within 4 days, 50 percent will be charged. Cancellations made earlier than that are free.
The caves are located in the heart of the Golden Circle, between Laugarvatn and Þingvellir National Park. Just a 5-minute drive from the main road. For directions, see the About us and select location.
